Defender of the Fatherless strives to make a significant impact in meeting the needs of disadvantaged and impoverished Filipinos.
There are about 1.8 million abandoned or neglected children in the Philippines; more than 1% of its entire population, according to the United Nations' Children's Rights & Emergency Relief Organization.
18.1% of Filipinos currently live below the poverty line, with around 8.7% not having enough income to supply basic food needs for their family.
What We Are About
Defender of the Fatherless is a 501c3 that assists in the rescue and healing of marginalized children in crisis by financially supporting our partner organizations in the Philippines. The leadership of Defender of the Fatherless consists of families who have adopted from and ministered in the Philippines. We are passionate about meeting the needs of Filipino children and their surrounding communities.
Gentle Hands Inc has been faithfully serving the abandoned, neglected and abused children of the Philippines for over 20 years.
